Dear Coach Hal, A meaningful positive presence in my formative days at Leo (golf and baseball) in the 1960s - always a dear man. May you rest in eternal peace.

I will miss him dearly. He was a role model for me of how a good man should live. He was a wonderful brother-in-law who never had a bad word to say. My sympathy to Greg and Gary and all their families.

Thanks Hal for being a close friend of mine for many years. Enjoyed the many rounds of golf we played at Cedar Creek. I will never forget your "power fade" off the tee box. Bless you and Carolyn together now, and peace for your family.......

Platt family, my sympathy, thoughts, and prayers are with you
at this time of loss. Hal was a man of character and will be missed.
May good memories sustain you. God's blessings from a friend
at LUMC.

Hal was one of the nicest men I ever knew. Smart with a quick wit. He presented to all who knew him an example of what a good man is. I have the fondest memories of him. To his family I say. A good man has gone home. I wish you all the very best. You are a living legacy of who Hal was.

Hal was a personality in high school athletics. He will not be forgotten as he touched so many young people and those he worked with. Prayers of support for his family.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me
