Aubrey M. Williams, 86, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 6, 2017. Born in Boaz, Alabama, Aubrey was the son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Williams. Aubrey was a welder and mechanic for International Harvester, American Hoist, Truck Transport Equipment and Lincoln Way International until his retirement. In his youth, Aubrey enjoyed camping, fishing, riding motorcycles, playing horseshoes, building anything out of metal, and being in his garage restoring cars and tinkering. Aubrey was an avid animal lover, including the many dogs he had over the years. He loved his family and cherished all his grandchildren. Surviving are his children, Terry Hettinger of Fort Wayne, Karen "Jan" Miller of Avilla, Lisa (Mark) Hettinger, Robert (Jaime) Scribner both of Fort Wayne;10 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Hubert (Mary) Williams of Columbia City, Mary Brown of FL, and his dog, Sparky. Aubrey was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Vernell Williams; daughter, Sheila Spillers; nine siblings; son-in-laws, Gary Hettinger, and Lonnie Miller. Service is 11:00 am, Friday, October 13, 2017 at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road with calling one hour prior, Pastor Lane Burgland officiating. Calling at the funeral home Thursday, October 12, 2017, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the City of Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control. "The man who dies with the most toys, wins."
