Charlene M. Wenzel, 69, passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born in Fort Wayne, IN, to the late Edward Peter and Evelyn Marie Derheimer. Charlene graduated from Bishop Dwenger High School in 1967 and earned her Associates from Ivy Tech. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and loved spending time with her family. Charlene was a librarian with East Allen County Schools for 12 years. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Charlene enjoyed crocheting and making blankets for the church and had a passion for reading. Surviving are her loving husband of 43 years, DeWayne Wenzel of Fort Wayne, IN; daughters, Angela Wenzel, Regina (Travis) Troyer, Valerie Wenzel, Elizabeth (Nicholas) Strauser, grandchildren; Preston, Andrea, Sophia, and Brooklyn, she is also survived by a sister, Lois (Bernie) Jozwiak. Mass of Christian Burial is 11:30 am Friday May 18, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church 1700 Aboite Center Rd. Fort Wayne, IN. with calling one hour prior. Calling also Thursday, May 17, 2018, from 2- 4 & 6 - 8 pm with a Rosary Service at 3:30 pm at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road. Burial in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to Masses or St. Elizabeth Catholic Church Blanket Ministry or Women's Care Center 4600 West Jefferson Blvd 46804 or Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
