Donald (BoBo) Bobilya, 84, of Fort Wayne and LaGrange, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. Born August 19, 1933, he was the son of Louis and Linda Bobilya. He grew up in Fort Wayne and attended North Side High School. He married his beloved wife Velma, of Delphos, Ohio, in 1952.
BoBo was born to sell. He began his career as a Fuller Brush salesman. He went on to become the top salesman at Allen County Motors for 15 years, before opening Bobilya Ford Lincoln Mercury, Inc. in LaGrange, with Velma. He operated the successful dealership for 29 years. When he wasn't working hard, he loved summers at Coldwater Lake. He also loved to travel. Some of his favorite places were Siesta Key Beach, Las Vegas, Hawaii, and wherever a cruise ship might take him. He enjoyed ice cream, happy hours, and socializing. He had a full and happy life always surrounded by loving family and friends. He was a friend to all, especially to those in need. He was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in LaGrange. He served as President of the LaGrange Rotary Club, was a member of the Auto Dealer Association of Indiana, National Auto Dealers Association, Masonic Lodge, and The Shriners.
He is survived by his four children, David (Annie) Bobilya of Fort Wayne; Dean (Lori Eby Hunt) Bobilya of Coldwater, MI; Dennis Bobilya of Portsmouth, NH; Sandra (Tom) Sorgani of Buffalo Grove, IL; sister Sally Mondhank of Fort Wayne; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his wife of 40 years, Velma; brothers, Sandy and Jimmy; sisters Roselyn Korn, Nancy Doehrmann and Mary Lou Johnson; and loving companion, Mary Watson. Funeral service at 11:30 am Saturday, January 13, 2018 at The Chapel , 2505 West Hamilton Road South, Fort Wayne, with visitation from 9:30-11:30. Private burial in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange, IN. In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials to Turnstone Center for Children & Adults with Disabilities or LaGrange Clothes and Food Basket.
