James Henry Crandal, 93, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Lutheran Life Villages - Anthony Blvd. in Fort Wayne. He was a native and lifetime resident of Fort Wayne, IN, James was a local farmer from 1946-1958 and then worked in the maintenance department, with SWAC Schools for 28 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Risen Savior Lutheran Church, James was a volunteer at Lutheran Life Villages with over 500 hours of community service. He enjoyed square dancing with his wife and traveling. Surviving are his loving wife of 74 years, Hazel Elizabeth (Wife) Crandal of Fort Wayne, IN children, Sylvia A. (Robert) Jones of Fort Wayne, IN; James A. (Eileen) Crandal of Roanoke, IN; Rick L. (Kathy) Crandal of Fort Wayne, IN; 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 3great-great grandchildren. James was preceded in death by his father, Ira A Crandal, mother, Romana Clark, daughter, Becky, and 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Service is 10:00 am, Tuesday June 19, 2018 at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road with calling one hour prior. Calling also Monday, June 18, 2018, 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home. Burial in Eel River Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Risen Savior Lutheran Church or Matthew 25.
