Kathryn J. "Kathy" Smith, 41, passed into the arms of Jesus Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at home surrounded by her family and cats. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Kathy graduated from North Side High School and earned her bachelor's degree from Indiana University. She was a relationship manager with Lincoln Financial Group for several years. Kathy enjoyed adventures, gardening, her pets, and hanging out with her family and friends. Kathy spread color and joy to those around her. Surviving are her father, Randall (Olga) Smith of Fort Wayne; siblings, Jill Meredith of New Haven, Robert (Rebecca) Smith of Anderson, Emma Hadley of Fort Wayne; nieces and nephews, Holly, Emily, Jeffrey, Matthew, Rebecca, Ethan; and many extended family members. Kathy was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Barbara Smith. Service is 2:00 pm, Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Highland Gospel Community, 3800 N. Clinton Street, with calling one hour prior, Pastor Jeff Bower officiating. Calling at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue Saturday, October 14, 2017, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
