Shacarra Lashae Hogue, 23, departed this life on Sunday, January 7, 2018 in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Shacarra worked with Fort Wayne Plastics. She was a member of The Spiritual Israel Church and Its Army, Today's Black Woman, and Love International Fashion Troop. She was involved in the New Haven Color Guard and was one of the journalist for Vincennes University Trail Blazer. She loved modeling, fashion, and make-up. Shacarra was an uplifiting, spiritural, and high spirited person. She loved her friends and family and embraced who she was as a person and exuded confidence. Shacarra loved her career. She was the fashionista, they called her "Lady Diva" when she was on the runway. She was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed. Surviving are her mother, Samantha (Jerry) Hogue-Figgs of Fort Wayne; father, Sheldon Abernathy of Detroit, MI; grandmother, Carrie Abernathy of Fort Wayne; brothers, Brandon Hogue and Deonta'e Figgs both of Fort Wayne; companion, Roberta "Binky" Briscoe of Indianapolis, IN; nieces, Lakyla Hogue and Rionna Hogue; nephew, Braydon Hogue; 3 step-brothers and 2 step-sisters; and a host aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and TBW sisters. Shacarra was preceded in death by her grandparents Reverend Madison and Mrs. Willie Mae Hogue. Service is 12:00 pm, Saturday, January 13, 2018 at The Spiritual Israel Church and Its Army, 610 East Douglas, Fort Wayne.
