William "Ed" Kimbel, 67, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 at Visiting Nurse Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. Born in Van Wert, Ohio, Ed was the son of the late Kenneth and Mary Jane (Dixon) Kimbel. Ed was a Vietnam War Army veteran. He was an electrician and journeyman with General Motors for 30 years prior to retirement in 2016. He was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, American Legion Post #111, UAW, IBEW #305. Ed was an avid Ohio State Buckeye Football fan. He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, watching NASCAR, and wintering in Florida with his wife. Ed earned the titles of Mr. Fix It, and The Problem Solver. Ed was always there for his daughter Kendra's school activities. He was a loving husband, dad, brother, and uncle and will be missed by all who knew him. Surviving are his wife, Debra (Jump) Kimbel of Ossian; daughter, Kendra (Brandon) Radu of Fort Wayne; brother Kirk (Avis) Kimbel of Lincolnshire, IL; sister, Vicki (Patrick) Lineback of Myrtle Beach, SC, along with many nieces and nephews. Service is 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road with calling one hour prior, Pastors Forrest Van Gundy and Will Smith officiating. Calling at the funeral home Monday, March 20, 2017, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Memorials may be made to IBEW local #305 Apprenticeship Scholarship Fund.
